Why I Teach

Traditional classroom settings often hinder the natural learning process, which is predicated on curiosity and enthusiasm. Because of that, I highly value the informal time between classes - the late night conversations, the vulnerability of taking risks together, experimenting. Regardless of the workshop you choose, expect to grow, not just as a photographer and creative, but also as a friend and peer. I believe deeply in the power of photography as a tool for empathy and as a unique medium for expressing the human condition. At the end of the day, however, nothing can substitute the empathy we create in the moment, when we are standing next to each other, openly and honestly sharing and listening to each other’s stories. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and growing together on an upcoming workshop.
